"Ummm...yeah, I guess so," John said, still feeling a bit embarrassed. He had no idea what it was like to be married, but as he looked at her, he found he wanted to. He wanted to remember. Especially when she started to lean toward him again. He felt himself reaching for her, but just as his hands touched her hair, a loud noise caused him to jump and shift to try to hide his very obvious arousal.
Teyla was back. He looked at Fred as she stood up and headed toward the door. He took a deep breath, trying to bring himself under control again. He thought about Mrs. Wren, his English teacher and probably the most unattractive woman he'd ever seen, which helped a bit. He finally pulled his t-shirt out from his pants and walked out into the main part of the lab where Jennifer was sitting in a chair, her head down as Ronon rubbed her back and Samantha knelt next to her.
"What happened?" he asked.
"She got sick," Samantha explained.
"Probably the stress. I've got sick more times than I could count during my exam revisions," Carson said. "Hey, maybe I am a doctor."
Teyla called for their attention, telling them they needed to take the substance in the bowl she held. For a moment, John wondered if this was safe, but something told him that they could trust Teyla. So he watched as Fred took the substance. She blinked, something changing in the way she was standing.
"It was," Teyla said as she held the spoon out to John. He swallowed it and felt a short wave of dizziness, everything coming back to him in a one fell swoop, like a curtain had been drawn from over the last nearly twenty years of his life. "It was meant as a humane weapon - turn back the clock to a time when your enemies were more innocent and give them a second chance. It was misused, though, and the relics were thought destroyed."
Teyla continued giving the substance out to everyone.
"Are you all right?" Ronon asked Jennifer once she had taken her spoonful.
She nodded and looked up at him. "I'm sorry I freaked out," she told him. "And I know now why I was sick. It wasn't because of the stress." A smile spread across her face. "I'm pregnant."
