As the three of them started talking about the bottle and the troubles they were having figuring it out, John finished retying Alex's laces while Fred continued to hold her. "There you go. Try not to kick it off again," he told her with a smile before touching the tip of her nose.
Just then, Laura Cadman came in with the information from Major Lorne, which John took from her as he listened to Carson. Before he could answer, though, Jennifer came in, asking if he'd seen Ronon.
He didn't have a chance to answer her either because just then the sound of shattering glass interrupted all of them. Within seconds, a nauseous feeling washed over John, and he tried to reach for his wife and daughter. Everything went cloudy, and when his head cleared...
He had no idea where he was or who these people were. He looked around, taking in the room that seemed to be some sort of science lab. There was a pretty woman holding a baby next to him. Then he bent his head to see that he was wearing boots, combat fatigue pants, a black t-shirt and a military-looking jacket.
"Oh man. Did Dad send me to military school?" he groused, trying to remember what had happened before starting. "What the hell happened to my voice?"
He looked over at a nearby reflective surface, his brow furrowing when he saw himself. He was older! And his hair was... What in the hell? He stared at the others.
"Who are all of you? What's going on?"
"That's what I want to know!" another man said from nearby. "If any of you have laid one finger on my science project, I'm going to inform the Fair judges!"
