"Rodney! Don't do that!" Fred scolded as she narrowed her eyes at him. "Do you have any idea what might happen?"
Rodney, who was holding the bottle he'd found almost a year before, shrugged. "No, do you?" he asked.
Fred let out a sigh of frustration. They'd been working on the bottle, trying to find out its properties, for the last few months. Every time they thought they were close to figuring something, they were wrong. Now Rodney wanted to use one of the machines to smash it open, which seemed a little dangerous to Fred considering they didn't even know what was inside of it.
"That's the point, Rodney! We don't know what's inside of it and we could unleash something dangerous," she said just as John's voice sounded through the lab. Fred pushed herself from her desk and glared at Rodney. "Don't do anything stupid."
She went to the front of the lab and grinned when she saw her husband and their daughter. Alex grinned back and reached out her little hand. "Hey there," Fred said as she went and took Alex from John's arms. "How's my girl?" She then looked at John and smiled before leaning up to softly kiss him. She opened her mouth to ask how his morning had been but stopped when Alex started to laugh.
"I'm going to smack Carson for teaching her how to laugh at me!" Rodney said as he came up behind Fred.
"Oh, she likes you, Rodney. She's not doing it to be mean," Fred said as she kissed the top of Alex's head. She then looked at John again. "How was your morning? Has she ate yet?"
