Fred was glad John left the channel open, even though she really didn't have anything to say. Instead of talking, she just stared down at Rodney's body. When John and the rest of them arrived, Fred grabbed at John. "No, I'm not all right!" she said. "My water broke and Rodney slipped on it and hit his head. Now he's dead!"
Jennifer looked up at them and shook her head. "He's not dead, Fred. He just knocked himself out," she said before Lorne helped her get Rodney on a stretcher.
Carson waved in one of the other doctors, who had a wheelchair. "When was your last contraction, Fred?" he asked.
"Right now!" Fred said as she tightly gripped John's hand and grimaced in pain. "It really hurts."
"Lets get her to medical," Carson said.
With some help from John and Carson, Fred got into the wheelchair. When they got to medical, Carson took them to a private section so no one would see what was going on. Fred got out of her dress and put on a hospital gown and got into the bed. Carson checked her over and nodded.
"It looks like Alex wants to come sooner rather than later. Were you having contraction before your water broke?" Carson asked as he put an IV in Fred's arm.
"My lower back has been hurting on and off since yesterday but no contractions," Fred said.
Carson nodded. "You've probably been in labor since yesterday but I would've sent you home until your water broke so you did the right thing," he said as he patted her arm. "I'll go get something for the pain."
After Carson had walked off, Fred turned to John. "I'm sorry for freaking out on you," she quietly said.
