Fred looked on in amazement as Alex told them the other little girl was their other daughter. She turned and looked at the door, wondering if any more children were going to show up. When none did, she turned and looked at Meredith. "That's pretty name," Fred said to her.
"I know! I was named after Uncle Rodney! He has a girl's name!" Meredith said with a small giggle before she turned her attention back to her dad. "And you really should take me on a ride in the puddle jumper 'cause I've been really, really good! I hate all my carrots last night like you told me to and I didn't give any to Molly, I swear! I like it when we go across the ocean really, really fast. Mommy doesn't care either because she says you're the bestest pilot ever and I'm gonna be a good pilot when I get big enough but I think I'm big enough now!"
Fred found herself laughing a little as she tried to keep up with everything Meredith was saying. She seemed to talk as much as she did. Suddenly, something dawned on her. "You're named after...Rodney?" she asked as she glanced behind John.
"All right, fine! My name is Meredith Rodney!" Rodney said as he crossed his arms.
Snorting, Fred shook her head and looked over at Meredith again, noticing she was staring at her pregnant stomach. "What's wrong?" she asked.
"That's not a new baby, is it?" she asked as she wrinkled her nose.
"No, Mere. That's me," Alex explained to her little sister.
"Oh good!" Meredith said as she nodded her head. "Uncle Rodney says that you two are always at it and he's surprised you two don't have enough kids to fill a hockey team!"
Fred turned and looked at Rodney.
"What? I never said that!" Rodney exclaimed.
"Did too!" Meredith said.
"Did not!"
"Did too infinity plus a bazillion million million!"
Alex giggled a little and then reached up to tugged on Meredith's pant leg. "Mere? We have to go soon," she quietly told her.
Meredith clung to John and looked at her sister. "Will our other mommy and daddy be there when we get back? Or did you blow them up?" she asked before she hid her face against the crook of her dad's neck.
