By the time they headed up to bed, Kyri found she was tired after all the excitement of the day, so she fell asleep rather quickly, wrapped in Evan's arms. It was weird to think she was so far from the place where she had grown up, but she felt at home here, where her husband had grown up.
The next morning, she found herself laughing when Todd came running in. Evan was right - his nephews were very active. And she had actually thought that there was no way they could compete with the whelps from her village.
After they had dressed and eaten, Kyri climed into the back of Anna's vehicle and leaned up against Evan. She looked around with amazement at all of the buildings, but her jaw dropped when she saw the large bridge.
"Wow," she said in amazement.
"You've never seen the Golden Gate before?" Anna asked.
"Only in a picture," she told her. "It...really doesn't do it justice."
"Not at all," she agreed. "Come on...we can walk down towards Fisherman's Wharf, and we can ride the cable car." She looked over at her mother. "Then we can go shopping."
