Kyri was really touched when Marie offered to share her recipe with her. Latro had been a good father to her, but she had always missed having a mother. It meant a lot that Marie already saw her as a daughter - even if they couldn't tell her everything.
"Thank you," she said before laughing softly when Marie said she was a saint. "I never feel like I'm putting up with him."
"Oh...definitely keep this one, Evan," Marie said with a chuckle.
After Evan had cleaned up, Kyri went upstairs to his old bedroom with him. Smiling at him, she let him pull her down onto the bed and snuggled against him, resting her hand on his chest.
"This is nice. I'm so glad I've finally gotten your mother. She's wonderful." Lifting her head up, she kissed him softly. "I see where you get so much of who you are from."
Putting her head back down, she rubbed her hand across his chest. "Your mom said your sister and nephews would be here in a little while, didn't she? And tomorrow we were going to go down to Golden Gate Park?"
