Fred looked at her husband and softly laughed. It would seem Mere already had her daddy wrapped around her little finger. It was adorable, though, and Fred wouldn't change it for the world. Shifting on the bed again, she allowed Carson to finish with her before they took them to a private room. She was feeling tired, but knew she wouldn't be able to sleep.
"And no fighting with your sister," Fred told Mere as she ran her finger over her cheek. She laughed when the baby simply yawned.
It wasn't long before there was a knock on the door, followed by Daniel walking in with Chase and Alex. Both of them ran up to the bed to see their little sister. Daniel sat their bags on one of the chairs, and walked out, knowing the family would want some time together.
"Mere, this is your sister Alex and brother Chase," Fred said.
"Hi, Mere. 'Bout time you got here," Alex said before she leaned over and kissed her sister's cheek.
"She's wrinkled!" Chase said with wide eyes.
Fred softly laughed. "You were wrinkled too when you were just born," she pointed out.
"So was CJ!" Alex added. Chase stuck his tongue out at her. "Mommy? Can we stay for a long time?"
"Actually, you can stay overnight. They're going to bring a bed in for Chase and you."
Alex grinned and climbed onto the bed with her mom. She cuddled close and reached out to take Mere's little hand. "I'm glad I finally have a sister," she said.
