Ronan returned Max's smile, glad that it didn't look like she wanted to run off again. When she tugged at his hand, he moved to sit down beside her on the bench, looking at her as she shifted closer to him. Wrapping his arms around her, he tilted his head down to meet her kiss, a thrill he had never felt before running through him.
This was not wrong. There had been a lot of wrong things that had happened in Ronan's life, and this was definitely not one of them.
Running his hand up her back, he cupped the back of her head as they continued to kiss before she finally pulled back, their eyes locking with each other. He was still getting used to all this, but he knew what Max wanted. And he wanted it too. He needed to be with her.
So when she asked her question, he nodded and stood up, reaching out to take her hand so he could help her to his feet. For a moment, then, he stood there looking at her before glancing over at the tree nearby. Going over to it, he picked up one of the rocks from it and held it out to her.
"Throw this at me," he told her. "I'll explain afterwards, but...just do it. Please."
