Ronon found himself running his hands down to pull Max closer as they kissed, urged on by everything he was feeling from her. However, when they finally broke apart, he found himself just looking at her. When he opened his mouth to ask if she was all right, she suddenly stood up, saying they couldn't before running out of her quarters.
"Max!" he yelled, running after her.
By the time he reached the hallway, however, she was gone.
Growling softly, he turned and hit the wall, not very hard but hard enough to release his frustration at the whole situation. He liked Max. Liked her a lot. And now they were connected in a way that he had never been connected with Jennifer, and even just that one kiss had shown him how intense and...amazing things could be between them.
But as Max had said, Jennifer hadn't been gone that long.
Sighing, he walked out to one of the balconies, the cool air hitting him. He pulled the thermometer out again, looking at it. As he stared at it, a conversation he'd had with Jennifer just before they had finally gotten together came to mind.
You can't close yourself off because you've lost someone, Ronon. You need to live your life. Don't stop out of some misplaced sense of loyalty. If you can have love and happiness and everything else...take it.
Reaching up, he took the themometer off and kissed it. "Always love you, Jennifer," he whispered before throwing it into the ocean.
He then went back inside and stood there for a few moments, trying to figure out where Max had gone. Trying to remember what he'd heard the others say about sensing their spouses, he tried to clear his mind for a moment and just let his sense of her pull him. Soon, he was hurrying to the nearest transporter and heading for the family area. He found her in the atrium.
"Max," he said, walking over to her and running his hand over her hair. "It's...it's not wrong. You won't mess up my life."
