She had been in the biology lab, chatting with Jeannie and Max about the party all of them were planning for Lis. Doctor Hayward had came in, looking sheepish about what he had done before. Knowing that Fred had already lectured him, Caitlin merely brushed him off before he left to go to one of the other labs.
Then there was a loud noise, and she felt pain riding through her body. Then everything went black.
For the longest time, she felt like she was floating; stuck between two places. It was cold there, and she could almost hear people talking around here, but no one was there. Suddenly, the cold disappeared, and was replaced with warmth and life. The pain came back, but for only a moment before it disappeared.
"She's...all her injuries are gone," she heard Rodney say.
Groaning a bit, Caitlin opened her eyes to see Kade, Rodney, and Carson standing there. With a confused look, she looked around and saw she was in a private room. Looking at the boys again, she could see tears in all their eyes. "What's wrong?" she asked as she ran her hand over her stomach. "Where's Shaun?!"
"Oh, god," Rodney said before he carefully gathered her in his arms, and cradled her close. "There was an explosion, and you were hurt. Shaun was delivered by c-section. You were going to die, Cait."
Blinking her eyes, Caitlin pulled back and looked at the three of them. "I..I was going to die?" she asked as her own eyes filled with tears. "I don't feel hurt."
Kade reached over and ran his hand over her hair. "That's because I transfused my blood into you. It was the only way to save you. Please don't be upset with me," he said with a worried look.
"No," Caitlin said with a sob. "I'm not mad. Thank you." Reaching out, she wrapped her arms around Kade. "I love you. All of you. So very much." When she pulled back, she tugged Carson over, and hugged him too.
The four of them huddled together on the bed for several moments before Caitlin pulled back, and looked at them. "How's Shaun? Can I see him?" she asked.
