When Tim told them what Rodney was doing, Caitlin sighed. She had blocking Rodney during their time on the mainland so she could concentrate, but now she could tell he was very upset about it. Following Kade and Carson into Jeannie's quarters, she stopped when she could hearing...sobbing coming from the hallway.
"I told him he couldn't rearrange the nursery, and he got upset. He locked himself in the bathroom," Jeannie said with a worried look. "I didn't do anything to him. I swear!"
"We know," Caitlin said before she moved toward the locked bathroom door. Rodney? What's wrong?
There was a loud sniffle, and then, Jeannie's mean! I was trying to help and she got upset with me. She even called me Meredith, and she knows how much I hate that! The sobbing started again, and Caitlin looked at Carson and Kade.
She just didn't want you rearranging the nursery. That's not your job, sweetie, Caitlin told him.
Oh, great! You hate me too!
Letting out a long sigh, Caitlin leaned her head against the bathroom door. She loved Rodney with every ounce of her being, but there were times when he was the most difficult person to be around. No wonder Fred kept fresh lemons in the lab. Caitlin was suddenly wishing she had one. But all she had was a half-eaten chocolate bar.
Caitlin pushed off the door, and reached into her pocket. I have chocolate, and you can have the rest of it if you open the door, she said.
The door clicked, and slowly opened. Rodney stared at Caitlin, and held out his hand. She placed the candy bar in his hand, and he grinned, not looking like someone who had been crying just moments. "Thanks!" he happily said before he started to eat it.
