"Here. Thought you could use this," Jack said as he handed Daniel a cup of coffee.
Daniel looked up at him, and gave him a ghost of a smile before taking the cup from his hand. "Thanks," he quietly said. He then glanced over at Banks, who was holding CJ, and softly talking to her. When it became obvious CJ didn't want to be held by her father anymore, Banks had offered to take her for a while. He then looked at Jack again.
"At least Molly isn't here right now. I don't know what I would tell her," he said.
"You would tell her that her mom would be home soon because she's smart, and will be back," Jack said as he gave Daniel a look.
Daniel sighed, and rubbed his face. He wanted to believe Jack was right. He knew his wife was extremely brilliant, but she should've been back by now. "It's been close to 12 hours, Jack, and nothing. God, if anything happened to her..." he said as he blinked back the tears forming in his eyes.
He turned away from his friend, and watched as Radek, Rodney, and Fred climbed the stairs to the control room. All of them looked as exhausted as Daniel felt.
"Carson is going to lecture me about all the coffee I've drank in the past 12 hours," Rodney muttered as he rubbed his stomach.
"At least you can drink coffee," Fred pointed out before she sat down behind Chuck's computer. "Powering up the Gate again. Lets hope this works."
Daniel sat forward a bit, and watched as the Gate sprung to life. As it did, his senses started to fill with familiarity. Standing, he stared down at the Gate before a grin broke out over his face. "Sam!" he exclaimed before he tore down the steps.
And sure enough, there was a blast of energy, and when it passed, his wife was standing there. Letting out a small sob, Daniel gathered her in his arms, and held her tightly. "You're never leaving my sight again," he whispered to her as he heard the others cheering behind them. "God, I love you so much, and missed you too."
