Sam looked over at Daniel and smiled. "I know," she said softly. "Thank you for everything you've done to help. And for believing me. I know how it must have seemed when you found me in front of your office door."
She reached over and took his hand briefly, giving it a squeeze before Tim announced that he thought he knew what to do. When he suggested hooking up the generator, she nodded.
"That should work. A generator was how we originally powered the Gate," she told him. She wasn't sure, though, how they would duplicate what they were doing at the time.
"And how's that, Einstein? She doesn't exactly have the program that they were running," Rodney said, crossing his arms.
"No, but I know the museum keeps laptops here. Now, most software programs run on the same sort of algorithms, no matter how complex they are. Since the generator has a computer interface to allow for upgrades, we can hook up the computers and run an energy maintenance program on one. It should have the same effect as what they were doing on the other side. We can use that in tandem with a program Fred and I can put together using our knowledge of alternate realities and Sam Beckett's theories."
