Daniel pressed his lips together to keep from laughing. John an Air Force Officer. He couldn't imagine him being in the military, with a crew cut. With a grin, he nodded. "Pizza and a lot of beer sounds good," he said as he stood.
After all of them were ready to go, they went out to Daniel's SUV, and piled in. Daniel smiled at Sam, while hoping Fred could do something to help her. He couldn't imagine being in a different reality, away from ones friends and family. Plus, she seemed like a really nice woman, and he truly wanted to help her.
Luckily, there wasn't a lot of traffic on the freeway, and they made it to John and Fred's house within thirty minutes. When they turned down the lane, Fred was out front, playing fetch with the family's yellow lab. When she saw them, she waved.
"Lose your car keys again?" Fred asked John with a smirk before she leaned up to kiss him.
Daniel cleared his throat, and looked at Sam. "Get used to it. They're always touching each other when they're together," he said.
"I heard that, Daniel," Fred said as she pulled away from John. She then looked at Sam, and grinned. "New girlfriend, Daniel? She's pretty. Where did you meet her? One of those online dating sites?"
Daniel brightly blushed, and ducked his head. "No. She's...well...this is Sam, and she's from an alternative universe," he said.
Fred rapidly blinked her eyes, and moved closer to Sam. She walked around her, as if she was examining her. Fred knew Daniel and John wouldn't lie to her about something like this, and excitedly bounced before going over to John. She swatted at him.
"You bring someone home from an alternative reality, and you let me grope you in front of them?" she asked before she shook her head. She turned and grinned at Sam. "Oh! We have so much to talk about. Like how you got here!"
Fred grabbed Sam's hand, and started to tug her toward the door. Daniel looked over at John, and shrugged his shoulders, before following them inside.
