Sam blinked as she pushed herself up from the floor. Daniel? she asked, automatically reaching out to her husband as she tried to get her bearings.
There was no answer.
Fear rising inside her, she tried to reach out to him again, but there was nothing. Not just no answer, but nothing at all. She couldn't sense Daniel anymore. It was like...he wasn't there. Swallowing, she looked around as her heart pounded in her chest.
Where the hell was she? What had happened? Where was Daniel?
Looking over, she saw that she was now standing in front of a Gate. No, not just a Gate. A Milky Way Gate. She blinked and walked over, reaching out to touch it. She had been sent to a planet in the Milky Way? Maybe that was why she couldn't feel Daniel. That would mean they were far across the universe from each other.
Just then, she realized that where she was standing looked to be a vestibule in a museum with a large roof window and an emergency exit. Exit. In English. Next to the Gate was a stand with a card, so she walked over. It was in English too.
Ancient Egyptian artifact believed to be wall art in the Pharoah's pyramid. Donated by Catherine Langford, 1984.
Sam stared for a moment. Wall art? Catherine Langford? She was on Earth?
Suddenly, an alarm went off. Jumping, Sam ran for the exit and out into the street, not understanding what was happening.
