Fred felt as if her world was spinning around her. Her parents were dead because of Mark and now John was going to dead. She would have nothing left, Their child would never know her father and more angry tears slipped down her face. Mark wasn't going to get away with this. He was going to die. Turning around, she picked up the gun they kept in the lab and into the back of her pants.
She turned back around and trained her eyes on Mark. Fred was about to tell Teyla to move away from him when she heard commotion behind her. Fred turned around and saw John standing there. She stared at him for a moment before rushing to him. She threw her arms around him and held him tight. "Oh god," she choked out. "He said Harris was going to kill you." She tightened her hold and suddenly remembered what Mark had done.
"I'm all right," she said as she pulled back. She cupped her hands to his face and looked into his eyes. Fred knew he'd been crying and felt her throat tighten. "He missed." She rested her forehead against John's and blinked back her tears. "I promised I would never leave you, John, and I'm not going to. Neither of us are." She then took his hand and placed it on her stomach.
Suddenly, there was commotion behind them and Fred turned in time to see Mark try to grab Jennifer again. Fred reached for her gun but Ronon was quicker. He shot off one bullet, which hit Mark in the head. The man's body stiffened and then fell to the ground.
"Ronon!" Jennifer said as she ran over to him and hugged him.
"Are you all right, Sam?" Carson asked as he rushed over to her.
"I'm fine. Where's General Harris?" she asked.
"Lorne and security are dealing with him right now," Rodney said. His face was pure white as he looked down at Mark's dead body. Suddenly, he wavered a bit and Teyla rushed over to keep him from passing out.
Fred turned her attention back to John, pushing aside her own pain over what Mark had told her, and looked at him. All that mattered was her husband. "Are you okay?" she whispered.
