John wrapped his arm around Fred and held her close, kissing her temple. "I love you too." It was unbelievable to see their daughter on that monitor and know that she was growing inside the woman he loved more than anything. Fred she was right - she was beautiful, even if Ronon did think her umbilical cord was something else, and they had made her together.
"Thank you, Jennifer," he told her, both for her offer of prints and for the help she had been.
As Carson walked in, he smiled broadly, but Fred jumped in before he had a chance. Of course, Rodney was ever himself, and John found himself laughing as he looked at the monitor. "That's my girl. Already smart and taking after her mother."
"Oh, haha," Rodney said.
"Oh come on, Rodney," he said with a laugh. "How was fishing, by the way?"
"You should see what Rodney caught," Carson said. "Show them."
"It's some kind of Lantean relic, I think," he said, holding up something like looked bottle-like and antique. "I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I figured I can examine it in the lab."
