Max gave Sam a small smile and shrugged her shoulders. "It's all right, Colonel Jackson," she said. "I should have assessed the city before making assumptions on how it was being ran. General Landry warned me, and I guess I should've listened. But I can promise you I no longer have contact with the IOA so you won't have to worry about me telling them anything. I'm not sure if they're sending another liaison or not, though. Woosley was a little pissed off when I spoke to him last night."
When Sam asked if she was going to be okay, Max let out a small sigh. "I'll be fine," she said as she remembered what Ronon had said to her the night before. "Some of the people in the science department hasn't been very cordial toward me, though. They've taken some of my stuff, strung my tablet from the ceiling, and have taken the control crystal so I can't get into my quarters. I met Ronon a few weeks ago, and he helped get a new crystal, but someone took it again last night."
She shifted in her chair a little and looked down at her hands again. "I didn't say anything to you, or anyone else, because I didn't want everyone to think I was a snitch," she explained before looking up again. "But, besides that, I kind of like it here. I have the freedom to do my research without the IOA breathing down my neck all the time. I just wish I could've brought Bailey along. She's my dog, and I normally bring her on projects but Woosley said dogs weren't allowed here. Which obviously was another lie."
