Free vouchers? The guy had kidnapped him and he thought that free vouchers were going to make things better? John almost started laughing at that. What in the world could he be offering? But at least it would get them out of there and back home.
Taking his wife's hand, he followed the boss with her to the elevator and downstairs, feeling just as surprised as her when he saw the casino. Of all the things he had seen in the Pegasus Galaxy, he had never expected something like this.
Despite the fact that there was a casino there, John was more interested in getting this over with so they could go home. However, at the boss' remark that his daughter had locked herself in, he frowned. He had only heard of one reason why a bride locked herself away on her wedding day, and it certainly wasn't because she was getting ready for her wedding.
When the boss knocked on the door, no one answered, so John walked up. "Maya. My name is John Sheppard. My wife Fred and I would like to talk to you. Would you mind opening the door?"
For a moment, he wasn't sure she was going to unlock the door, but then there was a click and the door unlatched. Reaching out for Fred's hand, John then slowly pushed open the door. He saw Maya's father about to follow them in, so he pulled up and wagged his finger at him.
"Alone," he said before they slipped inside and closing the door behind them. Inside the room stood a young woman who was very much not getting ready to be married. In fact, her dress was in a heap on the ground.
"He said he was going to do it, but I can't believe he did it," Maya said, crossing her arms. "He actually kidnapped the Guardians from Atlantis."
