Fred was right. Something was definitely very wrong about this.
As she stepped closer to look at the satellite, John circled around it, looking it up and down. Being controlled by a remote? He was starting to get a really bad feeling about this.
He was about suggest to Fred that they go back to the jumper and head back to the Gate to call for some others to come out and help when he heard a noise nearby. Swinging his gun over, he aimed at the men who seemed to almost appear out of nowhere, pointing their weapons at them. He didn't dare drop his gun because there was no way he was going to not protect his wife and unborn child.
"Boss? What boss?" he demanded, moving over a few steps so he was closer to Fred.
The men looked at each other as if they couldn't believe he didn't know who they were talking about. John looked over at Fred. What the hell is this all about?
"If you don't know who our boss is, then there must be a reason. He'll explain everything. Now drop your weapons," the man standing at point said.
"No way," John said. Suddenly, the man pressed something in his hand and a bolt of electricity hit him. Just enough to hurt and make John's muscles twitch. He just managed to hang onto his gun. "Hey! I have enough grey hairs!"
"Drop your weapons, or we'll use it on her too."
There was no way John was going to let them hurt Fred and Meredith, so he nodded. "All right. Just don't hurt her."
