Daniel held Sam close to him and rubbed her stomach as Sam talked about Doctor Pace. He nodded his head in agreement with his wife's silent thoughts. Doctor Pace had came in and made demands without getting to know them, or how they ran the city, first. He was pretty sure things would've worked out better if she had. But, apparently, Woosley had made sure she wouldn't.
"That might be a good idea," Daniel said after Sam made her comment about speaking to Doctor Pace one-on-one. "Maybe she'll respond better if it's just you without everyone else there. The senior staff tends to be very protective of the city."
Closing his eyes, Daniel nuzzled his wife's neck, and silently let her know he was there for her. After a few moments of silence, he opened his eyes and glanced at the clock on the wall. It was getting close to lunch. They hadn't had a big breakfast since all of them had overslept by accident.
"Want me to make some lunch?" he asked. "I can run down to the dining hall, and get something or I can make some soup or sandwiches. It's up to you and CJ."
Just then, CJ kicked, and Daniel laughed. "I think someone's hungry," he chuckled.
