Evan laughed and shook his head. He didn't doubt Chase had tried to get Kyri's pudding cup from her. "You're stronger than me," he said with a snort. "Chase conned me out of a football and Alex...well, she talked me into letting her put princess makeup on me." He blushed a little and shrugged. "I think her dad puts her up to it."
At the moment, it didn't matter if Alex had put lip gloss on him or that Chase had conned him out of his football. All that mattered was Kyri and how they were going to be together. He was looking forward to having her by his side every night when he went to bed, and every morning when he woke up. Just the thought of it made him smile.
"I'm glad, too," he said with a grin. "I'll have to thank whoever made the roof so bad that it leaked."
Leaning down, he softly kissed her and pulled back. "How about we get out of here? I need to take the tablet back to Operations, and while we're there, I'll pick up a request form so we can move to different quarters," he said.
He got up from the bench and picked up his sketch book and the tablet before helping Kyri up.
