Max knew Ronon was right, and she needed to do what she felt was right. She had to be truthful, even if it meant pissing the IOA off. Lying was never the right way to solve problems, and the IOA was becoming a big one. "I'll keep that in mind," she said before furrowing her brow when he said to follow him.
Setting her tablet down on the bench, Max followed Ronon out of her lab and down the corridor. When they stopped at Doctor McKay and Doctor Sheppard's lab, she looked up at him with wide eyes. She didn't want to go in there and was glad when Ronon motioned for her to stay out there.
As she waited, Max leaned against the wall and stared down at the floor. She didn't want to make it look like she was spying on them. She knew if someone thought she was, they wouldn't hesitate to tell Fred and Rodney. And that would open up another can of worms she didn't want to deal with.
When Ronon came back out with the crystal, she smiled at him and took it from his hand. "Thank you, Ronon," she said as she slipped the crystal into her pocket. She glanced toward the lab and back to him. "I couldn't help but to overhear. You should probably go see your kids. I've taken up enough of your time."
