Ronon knew it was time to go home the morning he woke up and the first thing he thought about was his kids and not the fact that Jennifer was dead. He knew if he told someone that, they would think that he didn't care about his kids, but it was far from the truth. They were on his mind every single day. But he knew that he couldn't be a father to him when his grief for the woman he had thought he would spend the rest of his life with was consuming him.
So he had done as so many of his people had done before they had been destroyed. He had gone off to grieve privately, and for weeks, the first thing on his mind when he woke up was that Jennifer was no longer next to him the way she had been for the last three years. It was hard to face, especially since she had been the first person he had opened up to emotionally following the loss of Melena and his home.
Now, though, it was time to go home. So he packed up, returned to the Gate and dialed Atlantis. When he walked through, Chuck came down into Operations to greet him.
"Sorry no one's here, Mister Dex," he said. "Colonel Jackson is resting until the baby comes, and Colonel Sheppard is down in the lab. I'm sure that he'd want to know you're back, though."
Ronon nodded. "I'll go tell him. I'm sure I can find him. Doctor Sheppard's lab, right?"
"How did you know."
Ronon just shrugged and headed out of the Gate Room to the transporter to head to the lab levels. He had just gotten out and was heading down the corridor, when he heard a noise from the lab. Looking in, he raised an eyebrow when he saw the unfamiliar woman standing on one of the benches and reaching for the light.
"Everything all right in here?" he asked, crossing his arms.
