"Where did everyone go?" Evan asked Sam as he walked into her office. He glanced over at Molly, who was sitting on the couch with her feet curled up under her while she read a book, Alek sitting next to her, his head on her leg. "I was trying to contact Jack earlier and was told he left the city."
"I'm sorry, Evan. Everything happened so fast, we didn't have time to call you up," she said, looking up. She then went on to explain what was going on, watching Evan's eyes widen.
"Wow," he said after giving a low whistle. "Any word?"
"Not yet." Sam looked over at Molly before looking back to Evan. "You had said yesterday there was something you wanted to talk to me about. Want to now?"
Evan nodded. "Michaela and I have gotten to know a Lykaio named Kyri Selune. She's an animal medicus at her village....and we were hoping to get permission to come to live and work on Atlantis. She could help out with the animals here and on the mainland."
Sam raised her eyebrow before nodding. "If you and Michaela vouch for her, then I'd say yes. I'd like to meet her first, though, if that's all right."
"Of course!"
Before they could finish, word came from the Daedalus that they were on their way back, and that everyone was accounted for. Evan promised to bring Kyri to meet her and then excused himself.
"Dad's coming back?" Molly asked.
Sam nodded and gave her daughter a hug.
An hour later, she was waiting with the others in the Gate Room when they teleported down, looking a bit tired and...smelling. Sam didn't care, though, and went to hug her husband tightly while the others explained what had happened.
John, who had his arm still loosely wrapped around Fred, shook his head as Jack left. I'll tell you about it later, he told Fred. After a long shower.
"Tell you what - we'll all debrief tomorrow. Go home and get cleaned up," Sam told him. She then looked at her husband, taking his hand and drawing him out of Operations. Come on. Molly's gone back to our quarters to start dinner.
