As Fred embraced John, Daniel turned and took Sam's hand. He gently squeezed it and let her know he was there for her. Nodding, he let go of Sam's hand and followed John down to the underwater jumper bay. He got into the boat and kept a good eye out for the debris.
When they came upon it, Daniel took a shaky breath. It didn't take a medical doctor to know there was no way Jennifer or Joe survived the blast. However, he still brought his life signs detector out and did a scan. Looking over at John, he shook his head. "There's nothing. I-I don't think they could've survived."
Moving to the other side of the boat, Daniel turned on the underwater camera they had installed on it. He didn't know what he was looking for but he needed to look anyway. If there was a slight chance their bodies were still in tact then they needed to bring them home. But he found nothing but debris.
"There's nothing left," he quietly muttered to John. "Not even their clothing."
Swallowing, Daniel did another scan. He knew it was useless but he had to try. He wanted to find at least something for Ronon and the children so they wouldn't have to bury an empty casket. But, once again, there was nothing to be found.
Daniel shook his head and reached up with a shaky hand to tap his headset. "Sam, we found the debris. Jennifer and Joe didn't survive the crash. Do you want John and me to come back in?" he asked as his throat started to tighten.
