Fred stood in the middle of Operations, her chest tight with emotion. At first, she didn't know what to do but when she saw Chuck trying to contact the jumper, she found herself going over to one of the consoles and trying to contact them through a different channel. This couldn't be happening. Jennifer was her friend and she had a husband and children to take care of.
"It'll be fine," Rodney said, his voice strained as he reached over and placed his hand on Fred's shoulder. "It has to be okay."
Fred found herself nodding and looked over at Sam and Daniel when they came rushing in. "We're trying different channels but are getting nothing but static," she lamely said.
"I'll help John," Daniel said with a worried look on his face.
"And I'll go with Lorne and take some readings," Rodney said just as Cait came into Operations.
"What's going?" she asked. "I just got a call from one of the marine biologist about their underwater station being hit by something."
Rodney quickly explained to her what had happened and gave her a sympathetic look before leaving Operations with Lorne.
"Cait? Can you show us where the station is?" Daniel softly asked.
Nodding, Cait went over to the screen and pulled up the ocean map they had. "Right here," she said as she pointed at an area on the map. She then reached up and wiped the tears from her eyes. "I-I'm pretty sure the debris had to hit there. The whales have migrated further out so they couldn't have done it."
"Okay," Daniel said before he jotted down the coordinates and glanced at John. "Want to head down now?"
Fred moved over to where her husband was standing and wrapped her arms around him. "Be careful," she said before pulling back. "And try to bring them home, okay?"
