Caitlin laughed and shook her head as Carson chased their daughter around to tire her out. Once the girls were finally down, she found herself snuggling between her husbands. She could tell Rodney had something on his mind but decided not to ask what, knowing he'd tell them eventually.
And when he did, Caitlin felt her throat tightening. There had always been a small part of her that was afraid of losing Erin. She knew it was selfish since biologically Laura was Erin's mother and she had no control over what had happened to her.
Nodding her head, she looked at Rodney. "I think we should say yes, too," she said.
Rodney gave them both a smile before he reached up and cupped Caitlin's face. "And it's not selfish, Cait," he quietly said, obviously sensing what she was feeling. "Erin cried for the both of you when we left. I know what happened to Laura wasn't her fault and maybe people think she's not trying hard enough but at the end of the day, you two are Erin's other parents. And Laura knows that and she knows Erin is better off with us, on Atlantis. Okay?"
Caitlin looked at her husband, seeing the tears in his eyes. She closed her own eyes and nodded her head. "Okay," she whispered before looking at him again.
Shaking his head, Rodney wiped his eyes. "Making me cry," he said in amusement.
"It's those pregnancy hormones," Caitlin said with a soft giggle.
Rodney snorted and pulled both of his spouses into his arms. "God, I love the two of you so much. Even if one of you are making me think I'm pregnant, while the other can't keep his hands to himself," he said as he nuzzled the two of them.
