Daniel raised his eyebrows when Paul brought the girls in. He crossed his arms over his chest and looked down at Molly as she said they had been playing in the tower and she had tripped over something. One of the rules for all the children on Atlantis was they were to stay away from the tower, unless they had an adult with them.
"And what are the rules about being in the tower, Molly?" he asked as he raised an eyebrow.
Molly looked up at them with her big, blue eyes and started to nervously chew on her bottom lip. "No playing in them and we aren't supposed to be in it unless we have an adult with us," she quietly said before she ticked her eyes back toward the floor. "I'm sorry."
Just then, the lights flickered back on. "I found the problem and fixed it," Radek said over the intercom. "One of the cords had been ripped out of the wall."
Daniel looked over at Lis and Callie as Ronon and Jennifer came hurrying in. As Paul told them what happened, he turned and looked down at Molly again. "How about we go to mom's office and discuss this," he said.
Deep down, Daniel didn't want to discipline their daughter. He could remember the few times his foster parents had disciplined him and how disappointed he'd been in himself. However, he knew they had to. Molly was old enough to know the rules and she could've seriously hurt herself or someone else.
"Am I in trouble?" she asked as she gave her parents a hooded look.
"Yes," Daniel said as he put his hand on her shoulder and led her into Sam's office.
