When Evan pulled out of her, Kyri shuddered again and slowly sat up. She looked out the window and knew that now that the sun was up, Michaela and Evan would probably have to leave to go back to Atlantis. So when Michaela confirmed that once she had finished helping them clean up, she sighed softly in disappointment. She didn't want them to go.
She knew they had to, though. They had their duties. At least they could come back that evening, so it wasn't like they'd be apart for long.
When Michaela asked if she wanted to come with them, however, Kyri smiled broadly at the thought and nodded. "Oh, I've love that!" she told her.
Evan grinned as he finished putting on his own clothes and sat down to pull on his boots. "That's definitely an even better idea," he agreed.
"Let me get ready," she said, pulling out a clean set of clothes from the chest at the foot of the bed and putting them on. Once she was ready, she put a few things in a knapsack. "I need to tell my uncle where I'm going so no one will be looking for me. I'll be right back."
She kissed both of them before hurrying out of the hut and running over to talk to Latro. She told him that she would be on Atlantis for the day and also about the hole in the roof of Barien's old hut. Once she was finished, she returned to Michaela and Evan, giving them a smile.
"All right," she said. "I'm ready to go."
Evan reached out to take both of their hands. "Shall we, then?"
