Caitlin held onto Rodney as tightly as she could and drew comfort from him. Deep down she knew he was right - she loved their children very much and would always support whatever they wanted to do. After a few moments, she pulled back and used the cuff of her shirt and dry her face. "Thanks, Rodney," she whispered before she leaned up to softly kiss him. "And you aren't that bad. Your slips have gotten better."
She gave him a crooked smile before taking a deep breath. Caitlin was starting to feel a lot better. "You know, it's her own loss, really. She's never going to see how wonderful our children are or how wonderful my two spouses are," she said as she gave Rodney a smile. "And, Rodney...whenever you want to talk to a parental figure, my dad is always there. He may act put off by you but he really does like you."
Caitlin kissed her husband again before she stood from the bench and tugged him up. "We should probably get back inside to relieve poor Carson. I'm sure Charlie has tried her new trick of trying to crawl from the sofa to the coffee table already," she said with a small laugh before she took Rodney's hand and started toward the hotel's side door.
