Rodney was glad when Cait started to open up to him and talk even if it was quite painful to hear what she had been through after they had through her brother had died. He was sure that she had blamed herself enough for what had happened - to have her mother blame her too...
"It's good that you and your Dad have worked things out," he agreed. "You and Carson are lucky - you have a parent that supports you and loves you. Hold onto that, no matter what else happens."
But when she started worrying about turning into her mother, Rodney embraced her tighter, reaching up to cup the back of her head. He rested his cheek against the top of her head.
