When Kyri looked out the door, Michaela found herself leaning out, too. Her eyes widened a bit when she saw the hole in the other hut's roof. She then turned and looked Evan over to make sure the chunk of roof hadn't hit him. He looked fine and Michaela quickly looked away so he wouldn't think she was staring. Instead, she turned her attention to Kyri and watched as she gave Evan a blanket.
"Go ahead," she said, shooing Evan toward the fire. "You need to get warmed up."
Nodding, Evan went toward the fire so Michaela wrapped an arm around Kyri and walked her over to the bed. Once they were both sitting down, Michaela glanced at Evan but then quickly glanced away before looking at Kyri. "So I got those blood tests done," she told her girlfriend. "The equitos share some chromosomes with our Earth horses but not all. I think the ones that are different probably have to deal with size since equitos are so much bigger than a horse."
"Are those the ones CT and Chuck have pictures of?" Evan asked.
Michaela glanced at him, letting out a breath when she saw he had the blanket around him. "Those would be the ones," she said before snorting. "You can sit down, Evan."
"I know," he said with a small shrug. "I was just wondering if you had any extra blankets so I could make a bed on the floor, Kyri."
