Kyri smiled at Michaela when she kissed her cheek, her fingers going up to touch it for a moment. There was something about how she touched her - whether it was gentle or passionate - that caused her insides to flip and her heart to beat faster.
She then smiled and watched as Evan went up to tell the others about this game called football. He really seemed to connect with the others, especially the children, and she was sure that if her uncle hadn't stopped them, they would have asked questions all night. When Evan returned to sit down, she grinned at him.
"Thank you," she whispered to him before Latro told them that the Story Night would have to be delayed until the next evening. As she stood up to take Michaela's hand, she looked at her then over to Evan. "She's right. It's too dangerous to head for the Gate now. The storms here can be very violent, so it's better you stay for the night."
She gently tugged Michaela to her feet before touching Evan's arm. "Come on. The hut next to mine is unoccupied - no one will mind if you use it."
He looked between the two of them before looking up to the sky nodding. "All right," he agreed.
Kyri gave Michaela a smile before leading them through the village to where her hut was located.
