When Evan told her just how much Michaela had been talking about her, Kyri felt herself warming even more. She'd never had anyone talk about her like that before. At least not someone she was involved with. Latro and Barien had, but they were very different. To Latro, she was his niece/daughter, and to Barien, she had been his apprentice. Them talking about her was nothing like being talked about by the person she was in an intimate relationship with.
"I don't mind," she said softly, squeezing her hand tightly. "I've...been talking about you too."
After Evan had gone off with Kaevan to talk about painting Latro once they reached the village, Kyri turned to Michaela and smiled at her.
"I don't mind," she told her. "I just...was a bit uncertain at first. I've never been in a relationship with anyone before, so I've never been in a situation where I've someone the person I'm with used to be involved with. Evan is really actually a very lovely man. I'm sorry that happened to him. With the woman he was going to marry. Hopefully this will help."
When Poe interrupted them before they could, she chuckled, watching the little boy light up when Michaela handed him the treats. Several of the children at the Sangui village on Hestia had talked about chocolate while she had been there, and when she had tried it, she had understood why they had liked it so much.
"Poe is adorable," Kyri agreed with a laugh. "I think he has almost everyone under his spell. He managed to talk me into letting him bandage one of our canae pups once."
Tugging on her hand, she pulled Michaela around the side of the hut so they were out of view of people. She then cupped her face.
"I've been wanting to do this since you came through the Gate," she told her before leaning in to kiss her deeply.
