Sam grinned when Daniel agreed to wanting to go over and see the horses too, especially when he asked about her still making it up to him. "We'll see," she said against his lips.
After taking her clothes and getting dressed, she pulled her shoes on as well as her light jacket. The jumpers hadn't landed too far away, which meant that the horses were actually quite close. If that was true, she wondered why they hadn't seen them before. Were they maybe migratory?
She supposed Michaela and the others would be able to tell them once they had a chance to actually study them.
When Sam heard the growling sound, she looked around even as Daniel pushed her behind him. Then she saw the puppy and started laughing softly, especially when they both recognized who it had to be. Reaching over when Daniel picked him up, she stroked his head.
"I think he is," she told him, laughing when the puppy threw his head back and tried to lick her fingers.
Glancing over, she noticed an animal's body lying in some bushes and bit her bottom lip.
"That must be his mother," she said softly as Alex snuggled down into Daniel's arms, obviously looking for comfort. "Now we know why we adopted him...or will adopt him."
