When Fred said she'd fly them over, John grinned and settled into the navigation seat. After buckling his seatbelt, he sat back, watching as she took them over the ocean to the cove. It had been a while since they had been there together, so he was looking forward to this. The day was looked beautiful, which he hadn't really had a chance to notice while he had been working on the reports and briefings.
At the cove, John looked around, still thinking that he needed to build a shelter of some sort for them there. Nothing big, but somewhere they could sit together with some shade.
Once Fred had spread out the blanket, he sat down next to her, stretching out and running his fingers up and down her back. He leaned in to her to met her kiss, smiling against her lips. I've been missing you too, he told her.
Wrapping his arm around her, he pulled her close, glad to have this moment alone with her after the craziness of the last few weeks. When they broke apart to breathe, he peppered a few kisses across her cheeks and forehead.
"I was thinking earlier that we hadn't spent much time together lately," he told her. "God, I just want this whole situation to be over soon."
