Smiling, Fred led John through the city, ignoring everyone on their way to the jumper bay. This was their day off and no one was going to make them stay there. The city could survive a few hours without them around. It had before and that day wasn't going to be any different.
"I'll fly us over," she said before using her remote to open the jumper's hatch. They got inside and once they were buckled in, Fred called down to Operations and got the go-ahead to take off. And soon, they were landing on the mainland near the cove.
After turning the jumper off, Fred stood and grabbed the basket with one hand and her husband with the other. It didn't take them long to get to the cove, and she was glad to see no one had found it yet. It was nice to have a place they could call their own without worrying about others bugging them.
Since the day was fairly warm, Fred shrugged off her jacket and dropped it to the ground before spreading out the blanket. She then sat down and tugged her husband down beside her. Once she had the food laid out, she turned and looked at John. Reaching up, she cupped his face and deeply kissed him for several moment.
I miss you, she told him as she continued the kiss.
