"Sam! Sam, dance!" Chase said, bouncing slightly in her arm.
She looked down at him with a grin before taking his hand and rocking with him to the music, glancing over at her husband and daughter, smiling as they danced together.
Looking over at his son and Sam, John chuckled before turning his attention to to his wife and raising his eyebrows when she said that the dance was costing. He was about to ask what the going rate was for a dance with a beautiful scientist-come-saloon girl, but before he could, she was pulling him into a deep kiss. Groaning, he pulled her closer as they swayed together to the music.
Hmmm, I think I might have a few gold coins in my satchel, he told her. Hopefully, that will be enough.
"Jeez, you two, don't you ever quit?" Rodney asked from nearby.
Breaking the kiss, John unholstered the gun that was part of his costume and aimed it at him. "Batman or not, I'm not afraid to shoot you."
The other man snorted and took Batman's well-known pose with his hands on his hips. "That's not even a real gun."
"Who said I'd shoot you now?" He flipped the gun back into his holster before looking down at Fred and shaking his head. Leaning down, he kissed her again.
