After leaving the lab, Daniel walked up to Operations with Sam, knowing she had to contact the SGC. As they walked, he did his best to calm her with his thoughts. The whole connection thing was still fairly new to him and he hoped he was doing it right. Daniel could feel the stress coming off her and all he wanted was to make sure she was going to be all right and not blame herself for what happened. She had no control over what any of them did. Sam was the leader of an expedition, not a glorified babysitter.
When they got to Operations, Daniel continued to hold her hand as Chuck dialed the SGC. Once he had, they went to Sam's office so they could speak to General Landry in private. Daniel stood by her side and listened as she told Landry what happened, while adding things to the conversation as needed. The General seemed as pissed off about it as the rest of them were. He told Sam not to blame herself, saying he had a similar problem once during a past command.
Landry promise all offending personnel - civilian and military - would be punished for their actions. He then said he would send a SGC security team through to help bring the offenders through the Gate before ending the conversation. Within ten minutes, the Gate lit up and several men came through and Bates took them to the dining hall.
Soon after, Caitlin called them and said she had the results. All of them met in the staff room where she told them twenty-two people out of the thirty some tested had tested positive. There was more civilians than military, which seemed right since Kavanaugh often spoke of how much he hated the military in the city. The list was sent down to the dining hall and those who had tested positive was rounded up and sent back to the SGC.
Once everything had settled, everyone went their separate ways. It'd been a long day but Daniel knew Sam had a few things to finish up so he sat in Operations with Chuck, and waited for Sam to finish. When she had, he went into her office and pulled her into a tight hug. "How about we go home for the night? I don't think there's anything else to be done," he whispered as he softly rubbed her back. "I think all of us need to take the rest of the evening off."
