The days following the Wraith mission brought a lot of changes to Caitlin's life. She was finally ready to go back to work after being for maternity leave. Charlie was now three weeks old and Caitlin was confident Aislin and Natatlia could watch her all day. And, if anything were to happen, Carson, Rodney and her were just a radio call away and could easily get down there to help. But, that wasn't what was on all their minds after they had seen the Sheppards and Tullys off. The device to help Jeannie's epilepsy was finished and had been tested several times.
When Jeannie found out what Rodney, Carson, Tim, Fred and Caitlin had done for her, she had started to cry. For her this was her chance to become a mother and she wanted to have the surgery done as soon as possible so they scheduled it for that morning.
Caitlin waked down to medical with Carson and Rodney, where Tim was waiting. "How's Jeannie doing?" she asked.
"They took her in to get her prepped," Tim said before smiling a little. "She's excited. Not scared at all."
"Well, she will have the best surgeon in the universe working on her," Caitlin said before she gave Carson a smile and squeezed his hand. She then looked over at Rodney, who looked like he was about to throw up. "Rodney?"
Rodney jerked a little and looked over at her. "Oh, um, sorry. Just a little nervous," he said. "Not because Carson is operating on my sister, but because I'm worried the device won't work. And before you say anything - yes, I'm doubting something I've done. I just don't want anything to happen to my little sister."
Tim stepped forward and placed his hand on Rodney's shoulder. "You won't, Rodney. It's going to work out," he said.
"Doctor Beckett? The patient is almost ready," Doctor Lee said as she looked out from the operating room.
"Good luck, doc," Caitlin said as she leaned up and softly kissed her husband.
