Smiling, Sam watched as Daniel got up from the bench and went over to his safe. She recognized it as the one he had kept in his research lab at the SGC as well. While he opened it, she felt butterflies fluttering in her stomach - the first time she had felt something like that in a long, long time.
When he came back over, she reached up to take his hand, expecting him to sit down on the bench with her again. However, he didn't, and Sam found herself holding her breath for a moment when he knelt on the floor instead and showed her the ring. It was the most beautiful ring she had ever seen.
"Oh, Daniel," she breathed softly, touching her fingers to it gently before looking up at him when he asked her to marry him. A smile spreading across her face, she nodded her head. "Yes. Of course, I will. Yes."
