Sam shook her head at Rodney before giving Daniel a veiled look and shrugging a bit. For as long as she had known Rodney, he'd had never liked Daniel. Sometimes, she wondered if he disagreed with him just to be contrary.
She was glad for the distraction that Noll and the others' arrival made, smiling at them at as they sat down at the table. "Yes, we did. Thank you for coming."
"Of course."
Sam sat forward, folding her hands on the table. "As you know, the Athosians have decided to return to Athos and rebuild their lives there. As a result, they are leaving quite a nice settlement behind on the mainland here on Hestia. Now, we know you've said several times that your outpost is too small for most of your people and that the planet doesn't have the resources you need to sustain a larger one, so we wanted to offer the mainland and the settlement to you if you wanted to take it. You've have free and open use of the Gate, and if anyone wanted to live here in the City, they would be free to."
Noll looked over at Ellia and Kaevan, the look on his face one of amazement. "You would truly give us all that?"
Sam nodded. "Yes of course."
"And also, I'd like to invite one of your people to join my exploratory team," John said. "Someone who knows about the people of this galaxy and could help us in our dealings with those we meet. Basically, an adviser."
"I would suggest Ellia for such a position. She's very knowledgeable and has spent her life learning about other cultures." Noll then looked at Sam. "And in answer to your offer, I say yes. I know several people would be glad to move her. And those who do not can stay at the outpost."
"Good," Sam said with a smile. "We can figure out the logistics of the move together and help you get settled."
