Callie sighs and shrugs a little as she looks over at him. "I don't fault her for it. I know that she cares about me and wants me to be safe. But, I was brought up to fight...I guess that's the word I would use for it. It's...a long story." She shook her head and looks down at the hot brown liquid in her cup. This man probably thought that Wilma was her mother. Which, really the woman was the only family she had left, even if it wasn't blood related. But, she had grown up learning about all the evil that existed in the world and how to defeat all of it.
"So, basically this family business is being handed over to you." She smiles over at him, stopping Wilma and asking for a piece of the strawberry pie as she walked past. Then, he said something that struck her interest. A vampire bar? Well, that was going to be on her list of things to check out. Shreveport or not. She would drive there. "Just one vampire bar? That's shocking." Of course there was sarcasm in her voice and a smile on her lips.
When Wilma set the plate in front of her, she lifts her fork to cut into the pastry, bringing the sweet treat to her lips before eating it. "I will make sure to watch myself. But, now that I have another set of eyes watching out for me, I'm liking my odds." She took another bite and chews at it before taking another sip of her coffee. "Anything else I should know before I head back into town? Werewolves haven't made themselves known yet, have they?" Callie let out a little laugh, kind of joking. Hell, if vampires came out to humans, who's to say no other monster had? But, they might have only known about vampires and nothing else, so she had to keep it in a joking manner.
