Callie was just about to start reading again until the gentleman at the counter started to talk about when the vampires came out to the humans. She raises a brow and nods. Just as she was going to read again, it hit her that this stranger might just know more than what the paper was letting on. And it was when he mentioned a war going on between vampires and witches that she picks up her things, along with her food and coffee, moving to sit next to him. There was no point in shouting across the diner at each other. Getting herself adjusted, she looks over at him and then nods to the paper.
"So...a few years and vampires are just...walking amongst the living? I just...I don't get it. From what I know? Vampires have done nothing more than destroy the human race by either killing us or turning us." She cuts the one side of her sandwich in half and picks it up to take a bite. "Can I have some more coffee too, Wilma? Thanks." She smiles sweetly at her as Wilma just looks between the two of them. Wilma believed that Alcide was a gentleman. But, they were only gentleman until something as pretty as Callie showed them attention. She would keep her eye on this one.
Callie raises a brow as she chews the bite and swallows it, shaking her head. "Me? I don't do anything. I haven't been back here since I was sixteen and my dad passed. Been on the road..." Just as she was about to just out what it was she did, she assumed that it probably wasn't a good idea. "Just..." She speaks a little lower as she sees Wilma going to the back, not wanting to offend her. "Been avoiding the place, I guess."
She thanks Wilma when she fills her mug up with hot coffee, pouring some creamer and sugar into her coffee before stirring it with a spoon. "So...what can you tell me about this little battle that broke out between the vampires and witches? Is it still a problem?"
