He seemed to be listening as far as putting his hands up, but Jo was under no idiotic notion that it meant he was not dangerous. Anyone could go from looking completely harmless to harmful in a matter of seconds. Jo knew that because she was that. She could look completely innocent one second and bury a knife in someone's throat the next. It was just something that came naturally.
"Now... you managed to do one thing right. Let's see if you can follow the rest of those directions, huh? Turn around. Slowly." She wanted to make sure he understood what she was saying. So she spoke clearly, her voice a sharp edge in the night air. Jo meant business. She wouldn't have this person thinking anything else. It would only broker a window of opportunity if he thought she didn't. He'd try to catch her off guard. Jo wasn't having that either.
