    Pathoheterodoxy Syndrome 1/1
    LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]devilc)

    Title: Pathoheterodoxy Syndrome
    Rating: Mature (language and themes)
Characters: Damian Lewis and Josh Homme
Spoilers: Assumes you've read A Kept Boy and [info]kellifer_fic's And Paid For.

Author's Note pt 1: Thanks to Poisontaster and Kellifer_Fic for being so generous and letting me play in the sand box.

For the purposes of this story, Damian Lewis was born in the Empire.

This story was written to explore some ideas I had about what life might be like for the corps of slaves who work for Commerce as well as wondering what sort of secret police the Empire might have. The Bureau of Industry and Security is a division of the Commerce Department created after 9/11. Obviously there's a been a bit of "mission creep" since then and now.

Influences on this story include: James Ellroy's LA Quartet, The Shield, Gorky Park, the Imperial So'jin (from Jordan's Wheel of Time), and there is an out and out homage to Piers Anthony's Bio of a Space Tyrant.

Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction set in a future reality and is not intended as an accurate reflection of the morals and actions of any actual real persons living or dead.

The Secret Police pay a visit to the Morgan Estate.

Fic: A Lost Boy, Chapter 10
    LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]angiepen)

    Title: A Lost Boy
    Author: AngiePen
Pairing: Liam Neeson/Orlando Bloom, minor Liam/Johnny Depp, plus a few other pair-ups among the supporting characters.
    Rating: NC-17 overall
Summary: Slave Orlando's been taken and the kidnappers aren't interested in ransom. And of course Master Liam's thundering rage is only at the personal insult, that someone would disrespect him by daring to touch his property.
Disclaimer: I don't own anyone you recognize. I know nothing about their social lives or sexual activities, more's the pity. This is fiction, period. It is done as a labor of love and I make no money from it.
Notes: 1) Set in [info]poisontaster's Kept Boy universe -- FAQ here. See Chapter 1 for more notes.
    2) For anyone who's curious, I wrote this before I wrote "Turf Battles."
    3) Thanks to [info]gypsyluv for the icon! :D

    [Seven Years Ago]

"Oh, man, I am completely wasted!" Mark Vincent was sprawled in a velvet-upholstered loveseat, upstairs in a private lounge at his flagship club, xXx. He had a golden touch for that sort of entertainment business and by his late twenties he'd made enough money to start looking around for investments. He and Liam had been introduced at a weekend party, and had partnered on some profitable ventures over the years, and eventually become good friends despite their sharply contrasting backgrounds.

Vincent had a loud, raucous personality, but there was a sharp brain in his shaved head and he was a good man to have on one's side in just about any conflict.

At some point, I'm going to be starting another Keptverse series, and I started wondering....what happens when a master dies? Presumably, you can will your slaves to your heirs, but until the estate is settled, would Commerce want someone in the household to make sure no one tries to run? What do people think?

    ETA: To be more specific:

Lord X has been ill for several years, and has been comatose for the past few months. His breathing and heart rate suddenly become very erratic, so his Agent calls the doctor. About two hours later, the monitor flatlines. It's 3 am. What happens next?
