He stared down at the address in his hand. Euphemia had told him that the man he was seeing was a master of his craft and he trusted her word. It didn't make it any easier, however, to raise his hand and knock on the door, knowing that it wasn't his life that he was risking. His fingers tightened as he tried to remember the password, the syllables of it slipping through his memory as he waited for the door to swing open, or to hear that quiet, whispered question that so often returned such ventures.
Justin, it turned out, was absolutely terrible at this whole cloak and dagger schtick. He got so frustrated trying to remember the passwords that he came up with himself that half the time he was tempted to just give people the paperwork for free. It wasn't like he was charging anyone, most of the time.
( He'd never been this restless before, but doing the work he did after everything that'd happened... it made him want to move. ) |
