WHO: Veronica & Charles WHAT: Getting the hunter to loosen up a little WHERE: Poolside WHEN: After sunset RATING/WARNING: TBD but warning for Charles being Charles, I assume
He was stalking vampires again. Since the murders a few weeks ago, Charles’ paranoia about vampires and other supernatural creatures had gone into overdrive. He spent most of his nights following them around, occasionally kicking in doors to try and catch them in the act or off-guard or something. It was just lucky he, usually, had another human with him to kind of try to smooth things over. Charles may not have appreciated the fact that Adam was sympathetic towards them but the other had probably saved him from getting torn to pieces by a group of fed up vampires.
Given all of that Veronica had expected that Charles would focus a lot more energy on Chase and herself. He still threatened to kill her every time their paths crossed (which was often considering their shared rooms) but he hadn’t done anything more than that. In fact, the threats had lost a little bit of the heat and intensity they had carried before. They’d become more of a greeting than anything else. It really made her doubt that either she or Chase were in any kind of danger. Which was good. Chase was only a vampire because of her and she didn’t want him to worry about a stake through the heart because of her. She loved him. She hoped they could be together for a long time if not the rest of their eternal lives.
Charles was a complicated matter. The two of them had been together thanks to some spell and she was still trying to figure out what, exactly, it was that she felt for him. At the very least she was interested. Chase seemed to be, too, considering his newfound enjoyment in tagging along with Charles and teasing him instead of threatening him with magic. She was pretty sure Charles was into both of them as well. He just needed to learn to loosen up a little.
Normally, she would’ve come up with a better plan but when she spotted Astarion with a sour look on his face slipping into the shadows in order to escape the pool area she’d been on her way to she decided to act. “Charliekins!” She called the moment she spotted the hunter. “I was wondering where you were tonight! Come join me for a dip.” Without waiting for a reply, she moved towards him as fast as her vampire speed would take her and pulled him into the water with her.
Her hair would be ruined but it was worth it to get Charles to just leave the others alone for a moment.
